Job Role:
The Estimator reports directly to the Head of the Sales Department and assists Sales Team with generating,
drafting, and revising bid layouts, estimates, and quotes, ensuring accuracy and completeness. The position
requires close collaboration with various departments to gather necessary information and ensures alignment on
project requirements. The Estimator must possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to
effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

Bid Preparation:
 Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, layouts, site maps, specifications, and related
documents.
 Generate and draft detailed bid layouts and estimates for projects.
 Revise estimates and quotes based on changes in project scope, materials, or other factors.
 Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
 Ability to identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, layouts, site maps,
specifications and related documents.
 Computes costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements.
 Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
 Generates bids using Company spreadsheets by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive
information and also through the Company’s CRM software. (Service Titan experience preferred)
 Performs tasks using Microsoft Suite, Blue Beam, Adobe, and other software that the Company utilizes.
 Detail-oriented and double check work for errors.
 Asks questions for continuous development.
 Keeps work organized, clear in communication and detailed.
 Assists with conducting site visits, delivering safety documents to new construction sites, participates in
construction meetings.
 Keep Bid Log updated, tracking leads in CRM software, and collaborate with Sales Team.
 Assist Project Managers with formally drafting Change Orders and updating project layouts.
 Ability to use the CRM to collect data and information from job notes and using other resources to draft
accurate estimates and bids.

Collaboration and Coordination:
 Work closely with project managers, sales teams, and other departments to gather necessary information
for accurate estimations.
 Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and verify costs.
 Review and reconcile discrepancies between bid documents and client requirements.
 Participate in Company meetings through various communication methods.
 Assist with gathering permit information and obtaining permits following processes for site projects.
 Ability to support customers, vendors and team members as needed.
 Communicate regularly with team members and managers.

Documenting and Reporting:
 Create checklists of daily job tasks and generate weekly recap reports to management.
 Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and communications related to bids and quotes.
 Prepare and present detailed reports and documentation to the Head of Sales and other relevant
stakeholders.
 Generates reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
 Maintains confidential information and back up data per Company policies and procedures.
 Ensure all bid documents are completed in a timely manner and comply with Company standards.
 Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned job tasks.

Continuous Improvement:
 Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and ongoing training sessions.
 Stay updated with industry trends, pricing, and best practices to enhance estimation accuracy.
 Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline the estimating and bidding process.
 Continue to develop goals and work toward growth and development that aligns with the Company’s
mission and values.
 Use knowledge of installing low voltage security systems in primarily commercial environments,
construction environments and some residential environments to draft site layouts and draft bids for
customers.
 Use knowledge of troubleshooting and testing networking issues to draft site layouts and draft bids for
customers.
 Use knowledge of the processes and procedures of programming various systems to ensure accuracy of
drafting bids for customers.
 Use knowledge and experience regarding new construction and on-going construction environments to
draft bids for customers.
 Use knowledge of terminating and installing end devices such as badge readers, mag locks, motion
detectors, glass breaks, cameras, focusing camera lenses, etc. for drafting bids and marking layouts for
customers.
 Use knowledge of installation and service of various Burglar Alarm systems to mark up layouts and draft
bids for customers.
 Use knowledge for installation and service of various CCTV systems to markup layouts and draft bids for
customers.
 Use knowledge for installation and service of various Access Control Systems, including door hardware to
markup layouts and draft bids for customers.
 Use knowledge for installation and service of various Audio/Visual systems to mark up layouts and draft
bids for customers.
 Use knowledge for pulling cables, wires and other necessary preparation scope of work to markup layouts
and draft bids for customers.
 Studies and learns about the various systems that the Company furnishes, installs and services to ensure
bids drafted are accurate for scope of work, layouts, and bill of materials.
 Honest and thorough documentation of all paperwork is a requirement while maintaining Company
Confidentiality policies and standards.
 Maintain positive attendance in accordance with jobs that are scheduled to be completed.
 Provide friendly, knowledgeable and respectful customer service.
 General knowledge of electronics, components and devices.
 Comply and follow all Safety Standards, Laws and Regulations always.
 Takes initiative by communicating with other departments and collaborating with team members.
 Ability to answer questions regarding estimates, proposals and orders and provide accurate information.
 Ability to work in various temperatures and working conditions.
 Other assigned duties.

Skills/Qualifications/Work Conditions:
 1> year experience in security, CCTV and Access Control installation and troubleshooting preferred
 2> years’ experience in administrative position preferred
 2 > years’ experience in similar role strongly preferred
 High school diploma or equivalent required
 Certifications in related field strongly preferred
 Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and driver’s license (MVR) check, clean, clear and valid
Arizona Driver’s License
 Must obtain and keep current any required Licenses required by law
 Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
 Professional in appearance and presentation, abides Company uniform policy and wears proper Protective
Personal Equipment (PPE) at required locations
 Ability to be an effective team member through strong productivity skills while assisting team members
 May be required to work overtime without advance notice and must be able to work a flexible schedule
 Good organizational skills
 Maintain Company property in good working order
 Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
 Standard working hours, with flexibility required for project deadlines.
 Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve
climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain
 Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
 Occasional lifting and/or carry up to 65 pounds and push up to 100 pounds
 Will be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that
require the use of protective equipment and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of
others
 Must be able to maintain visual acuity and alertness for long periods of time including long periods of
driving a motor vehicle
